Third case of deadly pandemic COVID-19 hits Nigeria

Nigeria has confirmed the third case of Coronavirus in Lagos, the country’s business capital.

The Minister, Federal Ministry of Health, Dr Esagie Ohanire tweeted this earlier today. He is quoted

” There is a third confirmed case of #COVID-19 in Nigeria”.

The new case is a Nigerian National who recently returned from the UK, self-isolated and contacted @NCDCgov when she developed symptoms. She is now clinically stable and being treated as the Infectious Disease Hospital, Yaba.”

Several preventive measures and release from the Federal Government through the National Centre for Disease Control have been put in place and are attached below.

Kindly note this is the first reported female to be infected with the virus in the country. The two previous cases earlier this month recorded in Nigeria were males- the Italian and one of his close contacts who was kept anonymous.
