*COVID-19: Obafemi Awolowo University shutdown till further notice *The Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) has been shut down until further notice.
The school was closed down in line with directive of the federal Government to prevent further spread of COVID-19
In a statement released by the registrar Mrs M.I Omosule she said
In line with the directive of the Federal Government that all federal Tertiary institutions be closed in order to prevent the further spread of COVID-19 , the vice chancellor on behalf of senate , has directed that the university be closed from Monday 23rd of March ,2020
Consequently, all students are hereby directed to vacate their hall of residence and the university premises not later than 5:00pm on Monday , 23rd March , 2020
However , staff of the university are expected to be at their respective duty posts to ensure the evacuation of students .

The Vice Chancellor, Professor Eyitope Ogunbodede suspends all local, national and international conferences, seminars or workshops, scheduled to hold in the University, until further notice.
