COVID-19: “All Schools should be closed for a period of one month” – National Universities Commission

Following the emergence of the CODVID-19 pandemic in most Nigerian states, the Nigerian Universities Commission has released a circular imploring every Nigerian university management to engage in a closure for the period of a month in order to curb the spread of the Corona Virus (CODVID-19) throughout the nation.

The circular was signed by Dr.Suleiman Ramon-Yusuf the Deputy Executive Secretary (Academics) and it quoted the Doctor’s words:

” I write at the behest of the executive secretary to inform Vice chancellors of Nigerian Universities that as part of measures to contain and prevent the spread of the corona virus (COVID-19) through the county, approval has been granted for the closure of all schools for a period of one (1) month , commencing form Monday , 23rd March , 2020
2.Consequently , all universities shall be closed for one month as from Monday 23rd March ,2020.
3.Vice chancellors are kindly requested ensure compliance”

 

The closure is scheduled to commence on Monday 23rd March, 2020 with immediate compliance from every school staff and student.
