MILLIONS LOST FROM FIRE OUTBREAK IN LEKKI

On Tuesday, a large of money, was lost as flames consumed nine shops in Lekki.

The prompt mediation of the Lagos State Fire Service spared an extra 10 shops from being ruined.

The inferno happened at Peace Estate close Ogidan Bus Stop on Lekki/Epe Expressway.

Acting Head of Lagos State Mrs. Margaret Adeseye said the firemen forestalled a line of electronic items’ shops from being annihilated.

The inferno, she stated, was consuming 19 shops of different sizes, where electronic results of various brands are being sold.

She clarified that the fire call was gotten and Lekki Phase 1 Fire Station was promptly contacted to extinguish the fire.

“Nine out of the 19 shops were seriously damaged while the firefighters could save 10 among others with properties worth millions in the midst of the COVID 19 pandemic,” she said.

The fire manager called attention to the fact that the fire was anyway extinguished with the extra help of a subsequent fire group of the Lagos State Fire Service and the Federal Fire Service.

She further stated that the Fire Service does not go on vacation as obvious in the 84 fire calls taken care of since March 23 when Governor, Babajide Olusola Sanwoolu gave a sit-at-home request to review level 1-12.

She praised the endeavors of the firefighters at guaranteeing a prompt response to fire emergencies in Lagos and cooperating with the security and administration directions of the legislature.

She guaranteed them of the support of Governor Sanwo-Olu to empower them to perform better.

Mrs. Adeseye advised Lagosians, to consider the 14 day lockdown positively as a step to help contain the spread of the savage COVID-19 pandemic.

She asked Lagosians to observe the principles set up by health specialists, stating that this was the best way to contain the spread of the infection.
