Work experience has always and will always be an important criterion to employment in some advanced organizations.

Lack of work experience can be a very disappointing shortcoming for students. Questions like, ‘how am I expected to gain experience as a student?’ may pop up. Yes, it is very possible. Here are some ways;

-Work shadowing: It’s an informal way of learning where you watch a professional and learn how they operate.

-Volunteering: You can also gain some experience by helping others.

-Internship: Similar to work shadowing but more formal.

-Leading a society or taking up executive roles in associations.

-Starting a small business: Go into entrepreneurship, become your own boss. It advisable to start with your hobby to make it easy.

The truth is that most organizations just want to evaluate your ability to multitask as a student in relation to how well you’ll do as a employee.
