After several weeks of the partial resumption of schools in Lagos, the Lagos State Commissioner for Education announced that all schools across the state (Public & Private Schools) are now permitted to fully resume, but that they must abide by the rules guiding public gatherings in relation to the Covid’19 pandemic.

The state government says all schools are to resume on Monday, October 19th, 2020. Hence, the resumption for the 2020/2021 academic session will include pupils in Pre-primary – Daycare, Kindergarten and Nursery schools.

The Commissioner for Education, Folasade Adefisayo, made this announcement on Monday the 12th day of October, 2020.
She said the decision was taken after deliberations and consultations with relevant stakeholders including safety professionals and Nursery school providers.

Schools are therefore advised to put safety first by adhering to the COVID-19 safety protocols and hygiene guidelines.
Adefisayo enjoined them to ensure that they are cleared by the Office of Education Quality Assurance before the Resumption date.
