The National Youth Service Corps in Osun State on Friday said it had secured the approval of the Nigeria Center for Disease Control for the reopening of its orientation camp in Ede.

A statement by the state NYSC Coordinator, Ayodele Adegoke, said the approval to reopen the camp was secured after NCDC officials inspected facilities at the camp.

Adegoke said NCDC officials led by Dr Adeagbo Omolola had inspected the camp to ensure adherence to COVID-19 protocols before reopening

The statement read in parts, “Our Director-General, Brig Gen Shuiabu Ibrahim, mandated all states to ensure strict compliance with the NCDC protocols and he further instructed that the sample collection booth be made available in every camp for the safety of our corps members.

“The NCDC led by its state epidemiologist, Dr Adeagbo Omolola, and the state Disease Surveillance and Notification Officer, Mr Rasaq Fafioye, were taken round the facilities on our camp and they expressed satisfaction with all we have put in place.”

“They commended our efforts at adhering to the COVID-19 protocols after they had carried out a thorough inspection of our facilities. They said with what we had in place, we were ready to host corps members on November 10, 2020.”
