A UK-based radio station known as No Signal has caused uproar among Nigerian music lovers on social media after scheduling a battle of hits between Nigerian rappers, Olamide and Naira Marley.

The station which is black-owned described both artistes as legends in their own rights and pitched them against each other in an upcoming Versus battle.

This has been considered as an overreach by Nigerians on Twitter who think that the description of both musicians – particularly Naira Marley – as legends is very inappropriate.

No Signals took to its official Twitter handle and wrote;

Do you have a groundbreaking story you would like us to publish? Please reach us through [email protected]

“#NS10v10 Different impacts, legends in their own rights. @Olamide v @officialnairam1 Tomorrow. 9PM.”

Nigerians took to the comment section of the post and questioned the rationale behind its tweet and decision to sort of compare Olamide to Naira Marley because, according to them Olamide has earned his stripes in the industry after making numerous hits during his long standing career. They said it is an insult to the YBNL boss.
