Contrary to an earlier release by JAMB, 2021 JAMB candidates can now send their NIN using any SIM of their choice, provided that the SIM has not been used by any candidate to register for UTME/DE in the past or in the present year.

That’s to say that candidates can now use any SIM of their choice to send their NIN to 55019 whether or not the SIM belongs to them. However, they must ensure that no one has ever made use of the SIM in registering for UTME / D.E. in the past as well as the present, and also ensure that the SIM used is registered with the NIMC.

It is believed that this was a result of JAMB discovering that certain candidates have issues getting their profile codes due to the poor network of some of the telecommunication companies.

Therefore, if you have been experiencing difficulty sending your NIN to 55019, it is advised that you make use of another person’s phone number which must have been linked to an NIN. Just ensure that the phone number has never been used by anyone for JAMB registration. You could as well try phone numbers from different networks. Hopefully, one will work for you.
