Rats are pests. They have an amazing sense of taste and good memory. Rats are not new on OAU campus as they can be seen almost every where even on the roads. There are special traits exhibited by the rats in OAU.
1. Lack of respect
The breeds of rats found in OAU don’t even fear humans. They will see you and instead of them to run, they will stay at a fixed spot looking as if you have family discussion
2. Size
All thanks to the Covid-19 break and the hostel occupants that left their food stuff behind, the rats enjoyed to the fullest. They are as big as a humans foot.
3. Lack of restrictions
A rat is to a hole but in OAU, its a different scenario. You can find them in lecture theaters, rooms, cupboards,bathrooms and even inside your food stuff. Don’t ask me how they got into your bucket of rice cause I can’t tell either.
4. Sleep disturbers
This is one of their specialty. They will climb your bed or make annoying noise round the room. You will have no choice than to stay awake and become a rat chaser.
5. Night meetings
Their meetings are held at night. In the halls of residence, you would hear them moving in the roof all heading to the toilet/ bathroom to hold the meetings.
