After months of testing, WhatsApp is releasing the much-awaited 2GB file sharing limit and expanding the member limit on WhatsApp groups to 512 people. The new feature updates are in line with WhatApp’s vision for ‘Communities on WhatsApp’.
On Thursday, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, announced on his Facebook account about the launch of message reactions using emojis on the WhatsApp platform.
Currently, each WhatsApp group can only add up to 256 people, with the number doubled, this should be useful for WhatsApp Communities when it launches. The 2GB file sharing will also be end-to-end encrypted essentially making file sharing easy and secure for businesses, academia and others. The new features will be available on iOS and Android and will be rolled out globally over the coming weeks.
