4.JAMB PERCENTAGE

Your Jamb result is 50%.That is what you scored in Jamb divided by 8 will give you what you scored over 50.For example,if you scored 300 in jamb,it will be 300/400=0.7550,which is 37.5/50 or 300/8=37.5.Another important thing is that your jamb subject combination should be the correct subject combination for your desired course.

5.O LEVEL RESULT PERCENTAGE( WAEC/NECO RESULT)

It’s important to know that OAU doesn’t discriminate between WAEC/NECO results.Your olevel results is 10%, OAU accepts awaiting results before your results are released and ensure you upload the results immediately it’s released, OAU accepts maximum of two sittings but it’s advisable you registered one excellent sitting( to give you an edge). Just 5 relevant subjects would be considered and graded as follows;A1=10, B2, B3=8,C4=7, C5=6, C6=5, Other (D7,E8,F9)=0.To calculate your score, allot your scores and divide the sum by 5.For example a candidate applying for Medicine and Surgery got Chemistry A1, Physics A1, Biology C4, English B3 and Mathematics Al,got 10+10+7+8+10=45,then 45/5 just got 9%of 10%.

You have to watch-out for when the institution will release the post-utme form and the examination date, the post-utme is 40%,based on a computer based aptitude test (CBT),time-restricted,based on the same subject combination you wrote in JAMB with an additional 10 questions on current affairs. This examination is to test, your intellectual, mental prowess in knowledge. It’s important to know that less than 25/50( the summation of post-utme and olevel result) is automatic disqualification.

Pre-degree is also a way to secure admission, your Pre-degree result is 40%, olevel result is 10% and jamb result is 50%.The first contact and second contact tests and examination are added together divided by 200 and multiplied by 40.For example if candidate Jay got 80% in first contact and 89%in second contact,it will be calculated thus;80+89/200=80.44%.Note that 80.44% is your final result in pre-degree not aggregate score, your aggregate score is 80.44/10040=32.2% of 40%.

11.CHANCES OF ADMISSIONS

So far you got exactly or above the cut-off mark, your Admission is guaranteed with certainty, but if you don’t, you have little like no chances of being admitted at all, but sometimes not everytime the school can decide to give you another course if your performance was deserving. But, as a pre-degree student if you scored 60% and above but not upto your departmental cut-off mark, you are assured 100% of an admission but it will be to any department the school decides to.

12.MEANING OF CUT-OFF MARK

Cut-off mark according to the dictionary is the “minimum number of points a person must score to be considered for a job, admission…”. Simply, the standard, decided and agreed by the management of the institution as the minimum a person can get to be admitted into the institution, this marks is based primarily on the general performance of the applicants and the number of available provisions the institution had for the candidates.Anyone that has less than the cut-off mark has little as no chances of being admitted into the University. The cut-off mark differs yearly but you it’s usually plus or minus 3, 4 or 5marks..It is important you take this into consideration to choose your course and prepare for your post-utme.
