A  prize of £300,000 will be given to international students beginning their studies at the University of Manchester in September 2022. Both undergraduate and graduate students are eligible for this award.

International students from the following African nations may apply for 30 merit-based master’s scholarships of £10,000 each. These students must be citizens of any one of the countries listed above. Please note that only students who have applied and received an offer for a full-time master’s starting in 2022 will have access to the application form.

Eligibility Standards 

  • Candidates for the African awards are required to demonstrate that they have either conditionally or unconditionally accepted an offer to enroll in a full-time program at Manchester and to submit an online scholarship application form by the 19th of June 2022. The application form will be sent by email to everybody who is eligible to receive the offer.
  • The academic merit of the applicants as well as the quality of their scholarship applications will be taken into consideration when making the award decision.
  • Applicants are required to provide their own funding (ie not sponsored).
  • It is not possible to receive the award if you are pursuing a Master of Business Administration (MBA), Master of Philosophy (MPhil), Master of Architecture (MArch), Master of Architecture and Urbanism (MA), Master of Landscape Architecture (MLA), Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE), Clinical Medicine, or Dentistry degree.
