It is the 121st day since the beginning of the strike that started as a warning. Here’s an update of the ongoing ASUU strike.

The president of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, Emmanuel Osodeke, said that they’re done having meeting with the panel the Federal Government set aside for the renegotiation of their demands to end the ongoing strike.

The meeting has been reported as fair and the only thing they (ASUU) await is the response of the Federal Government on the discussed matters.

Osodeke stated that:

It is a committee of different government agencies. They need to go back to their principal and look at what we agreed on and then get back to us. When they respond to us, we will give you full details.

The University Transparency and Accountability Solution is still undergoing test by National Information Technology Development Agency. This is also one of the conditions ASUU stated for ending the strike. It is the home-grown payment and personnel solution developed by ASUU as a replacement for the failed IPPIS.

The ending of the strike depends solely on the decision of the Federal Government after they receive the reports from the Brigg’s committee.

There has been no news about the alleged 250k bribe Reform received and no EndASUUstrike protest has been held ever since.
