NLC’s Proposed Solidarity Protest with ASUU is Unlawful __FG

This declaration has been supported by a statement, signed by the Deputy National President of NAUS, Mohammed Ibrahim, dated July 17: Imploring students across the states and the FCT to join in the protest to end the five- month strike.

The resolution has been greatly welcomed in the Student’s Constituency declaring that NAUS:”shall be part of the protest nationwide to demand the immediate resolution of issues between the Federal government and ASUU”

The Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed reported to State house Correspondents after a meeting with the Federal Executive Council, presided by the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday.

Mr Lai Mohammed stated that the NLC’s decisions (street protest) is illegal; based on selfishness and this planned action is capable of stroking anarchy.

The FG has declared_illegal,the planned protest by the Nigeria Labour Congress in solidarity with the striking members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU)

Emphasizing that the NLC should desist, and insulate itself completely from Politics.
