Disney has been around for a while now, making many movies. They started as an animation studio, but today they make all kinds of content, be it live-action, animated, or hybrid. Some Disney movies have been there all through our childhood and there are still some we watch because Disney movies never get old. Here are the five best Disney movies of all time.
5) FROZEN:
Frozen is a 2013 American animated musical movie about two sisters who are princesses. Princess Elsa, the oldest sister possesses a magical power that allows her to control and create snow and often uses it to play with Anna, her sister. After Elsa accidentally injures Anna while playing their parents decide to isolate the sisters in the castle. The sisters lose their parents to a storm when they were teenagers which leads to Elsa being crowned queen. The movie focuses on Anna’s journey to find her sister who left the palace after she accidentally unleashed her powers and was branded a monster.
4) THE JUNGLE BOOK:
Jungle book is a 1967 American animation about a boy who was raised by animals. Mowgli, a young orphaned boy, was found in a basket in the deep jungles of India by a panther who takes him to a mother wolf to raise. Mowgli had to be sent back to the “man-village” after a man-eating tiger returns to the jungle. The movie focuses on the journey of Mowgli and the panther to the “man-village”. Mowgli eventually agrees to stay in the man-village after meeting a beautiful young lady.
3) SNOW WHITE AND THE SEVEN DWARFS:
This 1937 American animated musical fantasy film is about a princess who lost her parents at a young age and is living with her evil stepmother. The jealous queen/stepmother hires a huntsman to kill snow white after her magic mirror told her, snow white was the fairest of all. The huntsman couldn’t kill the princess and told her to run away. The princess stumbles upon a cottage belonging to the seven dwarfs but not knowing that the princess assumed that it belonged to seven orphans based on the arrangement of the cottage. The seven dwarfs find the Princess in their home and eventually welcome her into their home. When the evil queen discovered that snow white was still alive, she disguises herself as an old hag and feeds a poisoned apple to snow white sending her into a death-like slumber. The Princess wakes up a year later after a prince, who heard of her eternal death visited her and kissed her. The movie is a classic childhood movie.
2) ALADDIN:
This is a 1992 American animated musical fantasy comedy film about a common thief who falls in love with a princess. Aladdin falls in love with Princess Jasmine but cannot marry her as he is not a prince and the sultan, Princess Jasmine’s father wants his daughter to marry a prince. Jafar, a royal vizier enlists the help of Aladdin to get a lamp hidden in a cave. Jafar loses the lamp to Aladdin after he pushed him back into the cave in an attempt to keep the whole thing a secret. In a bid to get out of the cave, Aladdin rubs the lamp and a genie appears. Aladdin uses his first wish to become a prince in other to marry the princess. The movie focuses on the journey of Aladdin, Abu(his let monkey), and the genie. This movie is one of those that can never be forgotten. A live-action adaptation of Disney’s 1992 Aladdin was released in 2019.
1) THE LION KING:
Lion King is a 1994 American animated musical drama film. This movie is about Simba, a young lion who is to succeed his father, Mufasa as the king of the Pride lands. Scar, who is Simba’s uncle has always wanted to be king and eventually succeeded in killing Mufasa. He also manipulated little Simba into believing that he killed his father since his father died while saving him from being trampled which leads to Simba’s self-exile. Simba later returns to the Pride lands after running into Nala, his childhood friend, and fights for his rightful position. The lion king is a movie majority of us love and will always be ready to watch whenever. Let’s not forget the great musicals in the movie.
