The Obafemi Awolowo University Ile-Ife, Centre for Distance Learning hereby invites applications from suitably qualified, competent, experienced and resourceful applicants for the above named position. LOCUM NURSE
JOB PURPOSE
To provide patient care and work closely with other medical team to deliver short and long-term care to patients, aiding patients from the moment they enter the health center by collecting patient information, supporting patient evaluation, administering treatments and medications as needed, and educating patients.
QUALIFICATIONS
The applicant must;
- Be a registered nurse and or registered midwife RN/RM;
- possess Certificate of Registration with Nursing and Midwifery Council of
Nigeria (NMCN); and - possess a current professional practicing license.
Experience
Applicants must have a minimum of two years post qualification cognate work experience in a health institution.
Specialized Skills
Applicants are also required to possess the following:
- Computer literacy with ability to use computer applications such as Microsoft Words, excel and Access,
- active listening skills, effective oral and written communication skills.
- ability to assess and evaluate situations effectively.
- ability to identify critical issues quickly and accurately.
- ability to pay attention to detail.
- ability to organize, prioritize and produce results under pressure.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- To provide direct care to patients, including administering medication or
treatments. - To apply or change the dressing on a wound, apply topical treatments, or administer medication via intravenous/intramuscular methods
- To follow up with patients to determine whether courses of treatment are effective and assess patients during follow-up appointments
- To contribute to successful long and short-term treatment through careful observation of patients on initial and follow-up visits including updating patients records to reflect new information
- To interact with patients and often liaise between patients, doctors, management and patient representatives like family members’ not compromising patient confidentiality.
JOB LOCATION: Obafemi Awolowo University Centre for Distance Learning, Moro Campus, Ife North Local Government Area.
TYPE OF APPOINTMENT: Contract
REMUNERATION: Negotiable
