5. Drake and Josh.

The American teen sitcom sits pretty on this list as one of the most watched Nickelodeon shows of all time. Drake and Josh were created by Dan Schneider around two stepbrothers Drake Parker and Josh Nicholas who has to live together despite opposing personalities.
Drake and Josh’s series was watched by an average of 3.2 million viewers, ranking as Nickelodeon’s highest-rated series premiere in about 10 years. In 2006, Drake and Josh consistently ranked among the 10 most-watched cable shows of the week, proving to be popular among ages 2 to 11, Drake and Josh had the highest ratings in its final episode. The Movie from the series “Merry Christmas” which premiered on the 5th of December, 2008 a year after the original series has a total of 8.10 million views beating the iGo to Japan episode of iCarly. The movie is ranked as the third most viewed cable TV movie, featuring the casts from the series.

4. The Fairly Oddparents. ( Fairly OddBaby)

The Fairly OddBaby is the first episode of the Fairly Oddparents season 6, which also became a movie, the “Fairly OddBaby” is the fifth Television movie. Timmy’s godparents Cosmo and Wanda have a child of their own and Timmy wishes the same, but the anti-fairies and Pixies team up to use the fairy baby’s unexplored magic to take over the world.
After a one-year Nickelodeon announced a sixth season of the series, it’s the first episode of “Fairly OddBaby” aired alongside a television movie based on the series “Fairly OddBaby” on the 18th of February, 2008. This premiere gathered a total of 8.81 million views and a rebroadcast garnered 4.82 million views, which brought the episode and movie to number 1 and 9th most viewed cable broadcast respectively from 18th to 24th of February 2008.
The American sitcom created by Butch Hartman “Fairly Oddparents” experienced a large reception among viewers aged 2 to 11, and was regarded as the second-highest-rated children’s program, the series later did steal SpongeBob’s spot as number one briefly. The Fairly Oddparents appealed to kids and teenagers as it gathered 14.2 million views from kids and 10.8 million views from adult viewers tuning in each week, it also became the number 1 television series among teenagers aged 9-14. Fairly OddBaby is the highest-rated episode of the series Fairly Oddparents.

3. Sponge Bob

The series centers around the title character SpongeBob and his crew of aquatic friends. Within its first month on air, SpongeBob SquarePants beat Pokémon as the highest-rated Saturday morning children’s series on television, the series had an average national rating of 4.9 among children aged 2 to 11 with 1.9 million viewers. Two years after the premiere of SpongeBob SquarePants, the series rose to be Nickelodeon’s second highest-rated children’s program, next to Rugrats, gaining a significant adult audience with nearly 40% of its 2.2 million viewers aged 18 to 34.
Justifying the facts in an interview with former U.S President, Barack Obama who mentioned that SpongeBob SquarePants is the only show he watches with his daughters. SpongeBob SquarePants grew and had the highest ratings for children’s series on television as of the end of 2001, reaching a weekly viewership of about 15 million with at least about 5 million adults tuning in. SpongeBob SquarePants has remained the number one rated animated series of all children’s television series.
After the expiration of Viacom and Netflix’s deal, SpongeBob SquarePants and Dora the Explorer were removed from Netflix paving way for other investors like Amazon, Netflix’s greatest competition. Viacom moved its program i.e SpongeBob and Dora the Explorer to Amazon.com after Amazon agreed to pay over $200 million to Viacom for the license, this is the largest subscription streaming deal ever. SpongeBob SquarePants episode titled “Atlantis SquarePants is the highest rated episode of SpongeBob SquarePants with an estimate of 9.22 million views upon premiere.

2. iCarly.

iCarly is an American sitcom created by successful producer Dan Schneider, which has received a warm welcome from its audience as its highest-rated episode sits pretty as the Second most viewed telecast in the history of Nickelodeon. iCarly originally aired on September 8, 2007, which had a viewership of 4.1 million and after which a second episode titled iWant More Views aired to an audience of 3.9 million viewers.
iCarly sits elegantly amongst the most watched Nickelodeon shows, thanks to its Season 3, Episode 35 premiere, on the 18th of January, 2010 which had an estimate of 11.2 million viewers. This ranks it as the second most viewed telecast in Nickelodeon’s history.
Carly’s highest ranking episode “iSaved Your Life” was an iCarly special that originally premiered on the 18th of January, 2010 with 11.2 million viewers and has an extended version containing seven extra minutes of some unseen footage in the original which was viewed by 4.9 million viewers. In the episode, a fan dared Carly to water a bunny suit and brush people’s teeth for a dollar, while filming the skit she almost got run over by a taco truck while crossing, but Freddie comes to her rescue and ended up being hit by the taco truck, breaking his right arm and spraining his left leg. When Carly visited Freddie she calls him a hero and kissed him, finally admitting her feelings for Freddie. Sam makes Freddie doubt Carly’s love for him, which puts “Craddie ship” on hold until Freddie finally heals. In the extended version, the Craddie ship had a second kiss for about 32 seconds during Carly’s visit to the hospital a few minutes after the first, this was to prove to Freddie that the initial kiss wasn’t a dream. Also upon Freddie’s return to school in the extended version, a girl shows interest in Freddie which spiked jealousy in Carly and caused her to kiss him, the third Craddie ship kiss in the episode. This episode won an honorable mention for the Most Epic Moment at the iCarly Wiki Awards!
The television series iCarly has however remained consistent with a couple of other premieres making it to the list of the esteemed telecasts, such as its “iQ its early premiere on the 5th of December, 2009 with 8.85 million viewers, and its “iOMG” iCarly premiere on the 9th of April, 2011 with 8.8 million viewers, ranking both as 5th and 7th most viewed telecast respectively.

1. Rugrats.

There’s no way the spectacular children’s series wouldn’t have made it to our list. Rugrats is an animated American television series created by the then couple Arlene Klasky and Gábor Csupó alongside Paul Germain, the series focuses on the experiences of a courageous, adventurous year one-year-oldickles and his group of playmates, in the series the babies talk to each other when the adults are not around or not paying attention and pretend not to be able to speak in the presence of the adults. Toddlers Angelica and Sussie who can speak to the children and also the adults serve as a bridge between the two worlds. The Rugrats children animated series had a large reception among children and even adults between 1991 to 2004 when the series ended, Rugrats received a boost in ratings and popularity during a production pause between 1995 – 1996 which led to constant reruns of previous episodes on Nickelodeon. Rugrats is Nickelodeon’s third longest-running animated television series, next to Fairly Oddparents and the leading series SpongeBob SquarePants.
In 2001 the TV special made to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the series premiere was aired on the 21st of July, 2001 as a Nickelodeon broadcast sits as the most viewed telecast with a total of 11.9 viewers, this special also became a pilot for the Rugrats sequel “All Grown Up!” which aired from 2003 to 2008. Rugrats became a hit series with high ratings and Nickelodeon’s top-rated 1995 – 2001, gaining a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Rugrat’s highest-rated episode “All Growed Up” which featured the characters being 10 years older was aired as a television movie in celebration of the series’ celebration of being a decade. The Rugrats television series received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in a ceremony on 28th June 2001 after the series celebrated its 10th anniversary, also becoming the first Nickelodeon series to receive a star.
The series since its original premiere in 1991 has received positive reviews from critics and fans, Rugrats was named the 92nd best-animated series by IGN and was also considered a strong influence on Nickelodeon’s rise in the 1990s. Rugrats secured a place in the hearts of both adults and children, being the number one children’s show on TV and also making Nickelodeon the number one cable channel in the 1990s.
