Obafemi Awolowo University, firstly known as the University of Ife, was established in 1961. Since its establishment, it has been known for producing ‘brains’ in the world today. It ranges from business moguls, trailblazers, CEOs, billionaires, and lots more. Oba Awon University can boast of being a citadel of learning where successful entrepreneurs today are groomed. 10. Sarah Alade

Sarah was once the governor of the Central Bank Of Nigeria in 2014. President Goodluck Jonathan appointed her to complete the tenure of Lamido Sanusi when he was suspended. From March 2007- March 2017, she served as the deputy governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (Economic Policy).

She was born in Offa, Kwara, Nigeria. Mrs. Sarah has her BSc(Hons) from the University of Ife, now Obafemi Awolowo University. She is an Economist by profession. Her estimated net worth is $1 million to $5 million

9. Professor Mobolaji Ebenezer Aluko

He is a professor of Engineering and the pioneer vice chancellor of the Federal University Otuoke in Bayelsa state. He was appointed to this position on February 11 and served a single five-term

Professor Mobalaji is an indigene of Ekiti, Nigeria. He has dual citizenship in both Nigeria and America. He had a first class in Chemical Engineering BSc at the University of Ife(now OAU) in 1976. Prof. is married to Remi, and their marriage is blessed with five children.

8. Toyin Omoyeni Falola

Toyin, born on 1st January 1953, is known for his Histography in Africa. He studied at the University of Texas and the University of Ife( now Obafemi Awolowo University). He currently works in the Humanities at the University of Texas, Austin.

He has an estimated $5 million earned from being a Historian. Mr. Falola is one of the most successful historians of all time.

7. Oluwole Oguntokun

He is a Nigerian playwright, dramaturge, and artistic director. He is the creative director of Theatre Planet Studios and Renegade Theatre. He is also a member of the board of Theaturtle and the Nigerian Bar Association.

Oluwole has a Bachelor of Law and Master of Law(LLM)  from Obafemi Awolowo University. He has an estimated net worth of $5 million to $10 million 

6. Olajumoke Olufunmilola Adenowo

She is a Nigerian architect born on 16th October 1968. In 1994, she started her architecture and interior design firm called AD consulting. 

Mrs. Jumoke was enrolled in Obafemi Awolowo University at the age of 14 and graduated at the age of 19 with a Bachelor of Science with Honors in Architecture. She also obtained her Master of Science in Architecture from OAU in 1992. Her net worth is estimated to be around $ 5 million to 10 million dollars

5. Bisi Adeleye Fayemi

Mrs. Fayemi, born on June 11, 1963, is the present first lady of Ekiti state, Nigeria. She is the wife of the Ekiti state governor, who served from 2015- 2019 and is serving another tenure that started in 2019 and will end in 2023. 

The 59-year-old is a co-founder of the African Women Development Fund (AWDF). She is the CEO of Above Whispers Limited, and she also serves as a UN women Nigeria senior advisor. Her net worth is estimated to be $ 5 million- $ 10 million.

4. Funke Osibodu

She is also known as Olufunke Iyabo Osibodu. She was born in January 1959. Mrs. Osibodu is a Nigerian banker who led Ecobank Nigeria and the Union Bank of Nigeria.

She attended the University of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University) and the Harvard Business School. Her husband’s name is Victor Gbolade Osibodu, a Nigerian Entrepreneur.

Funke Osibodu’s occupation is said to be CEO; well, the reason is not far-fetched. She was a CEO and later a director of Ecobank Nigeria till 2006. Also, in 2008, she became one of the five that replaced some dismissed CEOs in the Nigerian banking industry. She was chosen to lead the Union Bank of Nigeria and became another CEO. In 2012, she stood down from being the CEO of Union Bank of Nigeria and became the CEO of the Benin Electricity Distribution Company.

3. Ibukun Awosika

She is a Nigerian businesswoman, author, and motivational speaker. She was popularly known as the former chairman of the First Bank of Nigeria. In September 2022, she was appointed a member of the Binance Global Advisory Board

Mrs. Awosika was born on 24th December 1962 in Ibadan to Abdulmashood Adekola and Hannah Aduke Adekola. She attended the University of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University)and graduated with a BSc in Chemistry. Her network of estimated to be $18.6 million. She is married to Abiodun Awosika

2. Femi Falana

Femi Falana SAN was born on 20th May 1958 in Ilawe, Ekiti State. He is a Nigerian lawyer and a human right activist. He is married to a Nigerian women’s rights activist, Funmi Falana.

1. Femi Otedola

He is a Nigerian billionaire businessman and philanthropist. He was born on November 4, 1962, to Micheal Otedola and Lady Doja. He is married to Nana Otedola, and their marriage is blessed with four children

Femi Otedola studied at Obafemi Awolowo University, where he had his first degree from 1980- 1985. He was the former chairman of Forte Oil PLC. He founded Zenon Petroleum and Gas LTD. Otedola owns other business that deals with shipping, real estate, and finance. 

He is among the richest in Nigeria, and his family was ranked the second wealthiest in Nigeria in 2022. He has a  net worth of $1.85 billion. He had magnificent houses in various cities; he owns a private jet and a few caravans of cars
