The College of Health Sciences (COHS) Obafemi Awolowo University is reportedly set to increase its school fees by N100,000. The announcement was made at the department colloquium on Wednesday which came as shock to many.
According to our correspondent, “The provost just called for a colloquium with all students of COHS to inform them but no official statement yet because students haven’t agreed to it . We are still hoping that it’s been reconsidered.”
The proposed increase has been met with skepticism by the majority of students, many people feel that the increase is unjustified and will place an undue financial burden on them and their families.
According to reports, the College of Health Sciences was said to be paying #32,000 per semester, but with the proposed increment students will now be required to pay #132,000 per semester. However, no official statement has been increased as regard this increment.
