Following the unjustified morning arrests of over 60 OAU students by The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for alleged internet fraud, the agency’s head of media and publicity Dele Oyewale, released a statement containing their names. we consider this action unwarranted and unjust, particularly in an era where digital footprints can last indefinitely. It’s important to note that none of these students haven’t been proven guilty, yet their names have been disclosed by the agency, impacting their online reputation and future careers.
In response, OAU students have taken to platforms like Twitter and other social networks to defend their colleagues’ integrity, emphasizing that they are legitimate business owners and academician . OAU is renowned for fostering innovation and entrepreneurship, holding the number one position for universities with the highest number of startups, companies, and innovators.
Inside OAU Media’s management intends to publish individual profiles for each student whose name is already online to refute the EFCC’s allegations and provide a platform for future opportunities.
