Although sexual harassment didn’t just start today, it started a long time ago but it has now become a cankerworm that has eaten deep into society. A survey conducted in 2018 by the World Bank Group’s Women revealed that 70 per cent of female graduates from tertiary institutions in Nigeria were sexually harassed in school. And the main offenders are classmates and lecturers. However, it is a pity Obafemi Awolowo University is topping the lists of schools with the highest number of dismissed Lecturers over sexual misconduct.

According to the reports by The PUNCH, it was recorded that in 2021, OAU dismissed three lecturers, one from the Department of English, one from International Relations and the last one from Accounting. While other schools dismissed one or two, only OAU dismissed three in 2021.

As if that was not enough, in 2022, June precisely, a professor from the Department of Linguistics and African studies and one other professor has been accused of sexual harassment, all of these made OAU top the list. Other universities affected are Federal University, Oye Ekiti, University of Lagos, Kwara State University etc.

Even though the Senate had passed a bill in 2021 that lecturers found guilty of sexual misconduct should be subjected to 21 years imprisonment, it was reported by The PUNCH that most lecturers found guilty were just sacked. This made the Ministry of Education, through the spokesman, Ben Going, promise to always come in when it has to do with policy issues, even if the Ministry does not interfere with the day-to-day activities of the university.

As you can see, Oba Awon University is not only a king when it comes to good things, it is also a king when it comes to harassment.

Aserifa is not new to floods but this is one of the biggest flood cases ever.

The rain that fell yesterday at Ile Ife didn’t go without leaving a trade mark behind. The heavy rain started in the evening around 4:30pm,stopped for a while around 6:40/7pm. Then it started again around 8pm and ended in the midnight but didn’t stop without Aserifa bridge being flooded.
There has been flood cases at that environ but yesterday’s case was above the “normal”. Residents and other road users seem to be in so much discomfort as they look for how to bypass the totally blocked road.

A relationship where you can freely hook up with many others that pique your interest? Say no more.

Open relationships are ethical non-monogamy that sound like unethical cheating excuse to most Nigerians except Yoruba demons Of course. There’s one guy/babe that’s like your constant while you explore numerous other feelings including sexual relations with other people. No, it’s not cheating because both partners must have agreed to it while setting some ground rules (if they want).

To know the thought of OAU students on open relationships, I had thrown the question out and below are the compilation of their opinions on open relationship.

Bayo,21

Open relationship is common among bi, it is when both partners are bi that they tend to have an open relationship but there is no reason why straight people that knows the high possibility of breakfast that comes with open relationship will engage in it. It is not a normal thing to do but we are different people with different choice infact I won’t want to have an experience.

Wale , 21

I’ve never had the experience but I wish I do because it is not bad at all.If you will agree with me,there are two side of a coin to this.

Lola, 20

Open relationship does not make sense at all. How can I be fine knowing my partner has another partner? Open relationship is a no no for me.I rather be single than be in an open relationship. What do people enjoy in that anyways?

Taiwo,21

A open relationship is for fun and cruise. And most times those involved are not inlove, it is just for fun, no strong feeling is attached. It is okay so far you know your boundary.

Mistura,20

Open relationships are fun,I mean we know we have each other but we also have other people. What’s more fun than being someone’s and the baby of others? Absolutely nothing, not even normal relationship.

Happiness,22

Ehn for me,I will say people that involve in open relationship are not inlove most times they just need something from each other.Because I won’t understand why I will be in a relationship with two or more people at the same time and vice versa,me that I’m jealous kojo

Emmanuel, 21

No strong feeling is attached in an open relationship. It is meant for those that are not serious about love. It’s just for fun and can’t be more than that.

This ethical non-monogamy seems to be the nightmare of most people. What are your thoughts?

2. Reckless fornication

5. Chop life

Why are you the one storming all the parties and visiting all the clubs? Go home now that the school has sent everybody  home because your maid duties await you and you can’t escape them. What good does it benefit you to be squatting with a friend when you’re the important child of a family? Hello? Go home!

6. Judas Iscariot moves

Why do you want to betray the thousands of students protesting against the strike? If you can’t at least be present physically, join the online fraction and support the cause. We know you don’t want to back to the hustle bustles of OAU but you no wan graduate? You better be retweeting or carrying a placard.

7. Ghosting Pro max

You went home and you feel the next thing to do is to abandon your friends? Why are you off the radar? Who are you forming scarce for? Don’t ghost your close friends when you know they will be worried about you, save everybody from emotional stress and keep in touch with them.

As much as we hate to hear that we should develop ourselves during this period,  we can’t help but try our best to make the time worthy while voicing out our discomfort to those that don’t seem to care.

Beauty they say is in the eyes of its beholder, I think it’s true, but I don’t completely agree, if there’s beauty, it shouldn’t be to its beholder only, everyone should be able to testify. If e fine, let’s say that guy fine die! Don’t be entering corners, actually, he’s fine in his own bit too.

After touring the whole campus, 13 faculties, over 60 departments. IOI has come to you with departments with most handsome guys. Sit back, pick your pop corn and chilled zobo to enjoy it. Ohhh! You’re probably fasting, sorry, not withstanding, sit back and enjoy.

Disclaimer: This list is in no direct order.

1. Law

Guys found in the faculty of Law are arguably one of the cutest in OAU. Dressed in their white shirt and black pants which makes them look like a corporate model. if you see guys from law, you’ll fall, because, how can you not even fall? Is it the way they’re well organized, well dressed in their white shirts, black trousers and well polished shoes. Nooo! Law pack all the fine guys on OAU campus. We believe one of the basic criteria for studying law as a guys is being handsome

Where do you think our handsome nollywood actors came from? Why do you think ladies flock around dramatic arts? Dramatic arts guys are fine, you want to confirm, go for any stage play, you’ll definitely get something beautiful to feed your eyes with.

4. Architecture

Archi guys, archi studio, mehn, I don’t know if you get the correlation between both. Archi guys are mostly found in their studio, they barely study out, they’re there maintaining freshness and beauty. You want to find handsome guys, go to their studio, you know why you haven’t/can’t see them, they don’t allow non-archi students in. I’m telling you now, Archi guys fine die!

5.Medicine

The young doctors , It’s no news that guys in college are usually really handsome and cute. This is where you’ll find the cutest nerds in the school. Apart from the exceptionally tailored outfits and serene composure, they are by far, one of the most fashionable.

Have you seen those guys with well starched shirts, well ironed trousers and vintage ties? You never thought they’re medical students. Ohhh! That mentality that medical students look shabby, it’s actually a lie, I truly wonder how they manage to drip with their draining course. Should I just say college guys, try going to college to read, you might not be able to concentrate because you’d be awed at your sight of look gooding guys.

Have you seen: IOI Picks: 10 Departments With The Most Beautiful Ladies

7. Mechanical Engineering

Have you seen spider guys? You won’t be able to take your eyes off them, because those guys are handsome! If being handsome was a felony, they will all be in jail. Criminals walking around with high shoulders because they know their crimes.

8. Electrical and Electronics Engineering

If these guys didn’t make it up to this list you should be shocked (pun intended). Most fit perfectly into what you want in a man and if you don’t find love here, you will surely find a crush. These men are ” look gooding” guys. Once school resumes, you should resume to their department too to find your other half.

9. Political Science

Should we hold a poll to rank this? Pol guys are actually part of the most popular students and to spice it up a notch, they are handsome beyond human comprehension. Looking for a very handsome yet popular guy? That’s the department you should be eyeing.

10. Civil Engineering

It will be nice to live in a dreamy house built by your man that is also very handsome. What good does it benefit a woman if her man isn’t from this department? These guys are not only intellectual and attractive, they are people you can build that 5 years (or less or more) relationship with.

Now, I see no reason why any OAU female says she’s single because she can’t find handsome guys, have you tried any department listed above? Now, give it a try, shoot your shot and have a beautiful relationship that will give you beautiful children.

The leadership of the Union will like to confirm to the generality Great Ife students that the much debated missing Union funds is now reversed. This is coming as a result of the relentless efforts of the Executives of the Union, including but not only the Financial Secretary, Comrade Oluwasegun Abiola Joy “Legbeti” (wa.me/2349052762075) and the President, Comrade Olayiwola Folahan Festus “Reform” (wa.me/2347039281006), buoyed by the checks of Honourables and Great Ife students in general.

The leadership of the Union salutes all Great Ife students for their doggedness and keen interest in the issues surrounding the money. Indeed, it is the dauntless spirit of justice of IFE which has ensured that UBA bowed to the pressure mounted on them over the issue. The court case continues. All needed measures to safeguard the money of the Union shall be taken promptly.

Aluta Continua!

You thought you’ve seen it all but OAU will show you different shades of drama. It hasn’t been long since we encountered different shades of voodoo on campus with Osun worshippers and masquerades having a field day on campus.

What more? A bat swallowed our 720k in a whim and this same mysterious bat returned the money into the account.
Then Twitter trends ear and dear, who is to blame?

The sacrifice used to cast a spell, ASUU strike or mid-semester break?
